GRP- Glass Reinforced Plastic

GRP ( Glass Reinforced Plastic) is used in many industries, such as boat building and wind turbine blades. NDT is used in assessing quality of manufacture, and inspection of impact or stress damage.

GRP is a difficult material to inspect due to its attenuation of ultrasound, and so Sonatest has developed specific high power flaw detectors such as the Powerscan 450 and Dryscan 410D to meet the challenge. There is also a range of dry coupled roller probes for through transmission testing.
