A novel array based sliding sensor has been developed specifically for use with Aerospace structures. It allows easy access for stringer inspections and can easily be used to hand-scan flat areas. The sensor is available with a range of ultrasonic arrays, which can be optimized for stringer geometries or for standard inspections. Range of array sensors Our out-standing sliding array sensor has a 5MHz 64 element transducer or is also available with 2 to 7MHz centre frequencies, and up to 128 element transducers for a range of inspection applications. Special array shapes can be supplied which allow the operator to get access to stringer parts so that areas close to radii may be inspected. Optimal coupling Use of novel rubber impendence matched to water eliminates coupling variation over rough surfaces or raised features. Durable Our proprietary rubber tyre offers excellent levels of abrasion and tear resistance. It is also impervious to a large range of chemicals. |
